Bishop Scott Jones has been faithfully serving the Global Methodist Church in this liminal period before the Convening Conference. A lot of talk has taken place about the episcopacy going into San Jose's gathering this Friday. I wondered if Bishop Jones could help me and an audience think through the dynamics at play and how we can best pray for the deliberations of delegates. Consider joining us as we hopefully engage the topics at hand in a helpful way!
We will be talking live, so we can take questions in the second half of our conversation. I will show favoritism to thoughtful and gracious questions, as well as those submitted by Locals subscribers. We will take a few good questions, then transition over to Locals. Consider going over to plainspoken.locals.com in order to have full access to this full conversation and many others!
I don't know why the live stream didn't work today. Here is what I did:
Reviewing Judicial Docket at the end.
Apparently Locals isn't processing my live streams this month. I'm not sure what the issue is. A supporter asked about this particular episode, so I uploaded it here for him (and anyone else who wants to go back).
Debra Baty is the head of Resources 4 Redemption, which is an effort aimed at spreading good information about sexual orientation and gender identity. She recently published an article about “sexual fluidity” and how it impacts our sanctification in Firebrand Magazine. It is a good piece, and Debra does worthy work. All believers in the West have to contend with the artificial ideas of the sexual revolution. There is nowhere we can go that these issues do not impact us. The only way out is through.
Debra has a personal story that is quite compelling. She is a trustworthy, thoughtful, and conscientious resource. All covenant Christian bodies need to know where they stand on these things, lest the evil one sow confusion. Now is the time to reflect upon these things. Days are coming when what we believe will be put to the test. If we have not prepared, then we cannot expect to prevail.
