Some legislation before the coming General Conference is more theological or theoretical than other legislation. One category of legislation is more immediately practical than perhaps any other: How are we to govern our churches? Specifically, how will we protect one another from 'disorderly walkers' or bad actors in the church? There hasn't ever been a time in which local churches had universally benevolent believers. Wolves have always tried to work their way into the sheep.
Today three panelists are going to help me to discern the legislation of the General Conference that will potentially impact how it is that local churches are empowered (or not) to practice church discipline. While this isn't the most public-facing stuff, it is extremely important in what kind of culture we have as we go forward with this new covenant body. Join us to discuss.

Apparently Locals isn't processing my live streams this month. I'm not sure what the issue is. A supporter asked about this particular episode, so I uploaded it here for him (and anyone else who wants to go back).
Debra Baty is the head of Resources 4 Redemption, which is an effort aimed at spreading good information about sexual orientation and gender identity. She recently published an article about “sexual fluidity” and how it impacts our sanctification in Firebrand Magazine. It is a good piece, and Debra does worthy work. All believers in the West have to contend with the artificial ideas of the sexual revolution. There is nowhere we can go that these issues do not impact us. The only way out is through.
Debra has a personal story that is quite compelling. She is a trustworthy, thoughtful, and conscientious resource. All covenant Christian bodies need to know where they stand on these things, lest the evil one sow confusion. Now is the time to reflect upon these things. Days are coming when what we believe will be put to the test. If we have not prepared, then we cannot expect to prevail.
